چکیده

Purpose - to study the features of vitamin D status and effect D3 supplementation on 25(OH)D in serum school-age children with COVID-19, taking into account genotype rs2228570 polymorphism receptor (VDR) gene. Materials methods. The pilot, prospective, open-label included 36 schoolchildren aged 9-16 who experienced asymptomatic (12 children) mild / moderate (24 COVID-19. In all were studied content blood its dynamics under influence 1000 IU per day for 12 weeks, genotypes frequency distribution alleles VDR gene (26 children). Results. Children COVID-19 characterized by normal values (32.682.12 ng/ml). underwent probably more (41.7%) likely have a state hypovitaminosis (27.362.12 ng/ml) fewer (58.3%) an optimal level than disease. 80.7% examined children, was determined gene, which includes G allele greater transcriptional activity receptor. Supplementation cholecalciferol day, regardless this increased supply tendency increase G. Conclusions. Vitamin deficiency can be considered as risk factor symptomatic course requires monitoring correction status, effectiveness Further studies role complex development severity will significantly expand understanding pathogenetic relationship, suggest predict personalized regimens. research carried out accordance principles Helsinki Declaration. protocol approved Local Ethics Committee participating institutions. informed consent patient obtained conducting studies. Letter: Covid-19, and vitamin D

Vitamin D is an immune modulator hormone with an anti-inflammatory effect. In this study the potential association between vitamin D and risk of Covid-19 disease were examined. Data of worldwide mortality rate of Covid-19 pandemic according to geographical distribution in 108 countries were analyzed. The results shows Covid-19 outbreaks and particularly mortality exhibit a decreasing North-Sout...

Effects of vitamin D fortified milk on vitamin D status in Mongolian school age children.

Mongolians are at high risk for vitamin D deficiency because of their residence at northern latitude, reduced exposure to UV-B rays during the winter months, and a low availability of vitamin-D fortified foods. We performed a pilot study in May 2005 to estimate the prevalence of hypovitaminosis D in Mongolian school age children and to determine the feasibility of conducting a longer and larger...

Taq1 Polymorphism (rs731236) of Vitamin D Receptor Gene in Children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most common childhood cancer. Several studies have shown that ALL occurs as a result of genetic abnormalities. 1, 25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 as a secosteroid hormone plays an important role in different metabolic pathways. The normal function of vitamin D occurs via binding to a ligand-activated transcription factor i.e. vitamin D receptor (VDR)...

Relationship of vitamin D status and bone mass according to vitamin D-binding protein genotypes

BACKGROUND Vitamin D-binding protein (DBP) may alter the biological activity of total 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D]; this could influence on the effects of vitamin D in relation to bone mineral density (BMD) and fractures. Emerging data suggest that fetuin-A may be involved in bone metabolism. We aimed to investigate the influence of DBP gene polymorphism on the relationship of vitamin D status...
